As our world, nation, and communities, and our families, face a world-wide pandemic, we must ask this question:
”Where do we look for help?”
The Psalmist in Psalm 121 was looking at the mountains in Israel when he pondered
the question about where he could go.
He concluded that the mountains were safe, but not safe enough. He knew they were the best choice in battle, but even then there were gaps and vulnerabilities. Then his mind remembered that there was something safer than the mountains and sure enough to bring certain safety.
Listen to his words inspired by the Holy Spirit within him.
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.”
(Psalms 121:1-2 NKJV)
It is here that the people of God can and must look: “...the LORD, Who made heaven and earth!”
Is this where you are looking as you face this and many other crises in your life?
if not why not?
His help is trustworthy, and this psalm says He never sleeps.
Put your trust in Him, and rest easy.
