Owning Your Faith Means Genuine Anonymity

As we turn the page on Jesus Sermon on Ownership, we see another quality that characterizes the true owner of the faith. It is that of genuine anonymity.

We are to be internally honest by secretly doing good. We are to be genuine, by denying ourselves the public benefit of our own righteousness.

Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:1-18, that good deeds and personal devotion, are to remain anonymous. Our alms, our prayers, our fasting, and our private commitments, are to be kept secret. Doing this makes them genuine, and done with the right motives.

Owners of the faith, delay their personal recognition, until God rewards them. This act of delay allows faith to be proven. Delay demonstrates faith in God.

Jesus uses the phrase, “...and the Father who sees in secret, will reward you openly.”

Examine this trait In your own life. Are you content to leave the recognition in God’s hands?

Owners are.
