Recovery Is Necessary

re covery noun, plural re·cov·er·ies.

1. an act of recovering.

2. the regaining of or possibility of regaining something lost or taken away.

3. restoration or return to health from

sickness.

4. restoration or return to any former and

better state or condition.

5. time required for recovering.

6. something that is gained in recovering.

Even though all of these apply to our current situation, I want to use definition number 6.

The reason?

Because we cannot lose sight of the need for gaining something from recovering.

I conversed with a friend from Malawi, Africa yesterday, and they are suffering greatly from this as well, and their food supply and lives, are threatened by the shut down of life and activities.

We need to gain and glean that we are together with the world in a worldwide situation, and then pray for others across the world.

We need to gain and glean that money and affluence could not fix all of the problems caused by this pandemic.

We need to gain and glean that our lives are far too busy to be personally and relationally healthy.

We need to gain and glean that we were caught unaware, and that abruptly our ability to change our spiritual condition was elongated or impeded by this shutdown.

If we intended to get back to church, procrastination caught up to us.

If we needed to make changes in our spiritual lives and come back to God, that was hindered.

If we needed to restore relationships, death by Corona virus would’ve prevented it.

We were reminded that we have families, and that they are in need of our time and attention.

The most important lesson to be gained is this:

Time is shorter than we think.

Let’s gain this for future reference!

“So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭90:12‬ ‭NKJV)‬‬
